Kristie Cecil

Kristie’s work draws from an early love of nature and a desire to find the extraordinary in everyday places. What distinguishes her work is an ability to capture a “sense of place” as particular, with an emotional subtlety that resonates.

Kristie is a Tucson based artist recently located to the Southwest. Primarily a landscape painter who works in oils and gouache, painting has always been a way to explore her surroundings. Adapting to the desert palette has been quite a change from the Midwest where greens and water abound. Looking at color, shadows, and depth is her way of capturing a sense of place. People who collect her work are drawn to a love of the land and place.
